"Sue Moore was my piano teacher from 4th grade through 12th grade. What I really liked about my sessions with Sue was that she allowed me to play whatever I wanted to learn. We ended up skipping the early conservatory pieces and playing ragtime, popular classics, and the Beethoven sonatas that I loved. Occasionally, Sue would add music theory to our music session to teach me about the basic structure of music writing. She also paid special attention to her students. She helped me choose a better keyboard, and at the end of my year of piano lessons, when I was about to graduate and enter university, Sue prepared me to play a series of piano pieces for a final solo recital in the Johnson Public Library recital Hall, rented at her own expense.
