BIOGRAPHY

Sue Moore began her studies at age 4 on the piano and changed to clarinet at age 8. She studied at the Conservatory of Music, Sydney N.S.W Australia under Pamela Wolf and privately under Anne Menzies (Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and completed the Associate in Performance on Clarinet at Conservatory Canada in London Ontario. Sue also continued and completed her studies on Piano and qualified as an Australian Music Examinations Board registered teacher (AMEB). Sue has been teaching students for over 40 years in both Australia and Canada and has taught instrumental music in Australian and Canadian schools and in her private studio. She has taught many graduates who have gone on to study music and music education. Her pedagogy is focused on interactive experiences that give students a strong foundation in technique, aural skills and a sound theoretical understanding of the pieces they learn. She has students that have been successful in both performance and theoretical studies and she has had students successfully complete examinations in many different music boards (Australian Music Examinations Board- AMEB, Trinity College London, Conservatory Canada, Royal Conservatory of Music Canada-RCMC). Profile.jpg

Sue is an active performer and composer and a member of both SOCAN and ASCAP. She is a current member of the trio "Two Thirds Down Under", in which she both arranges and composers for. Many of Sue's compositions have been performed internationally in schools and used in teaching of local school children and students performing these have been the successful recipients of multiple awards in local festivals.

Sue's performance experiences include principal clarinet in orchestras and bands in both Australia and Canada and local chamber groups of varying styles and genres. Musical shows on multiple instruments including percussion, clarinet, flute, bass clarinet, and saxophone, chamber orchestras as principal clarinettist, the Vimy band as principal clarinet, and Eb clarinet and as a solo player on many occasions.

Sue Moore holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours with distinction) in Theory and Composition from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Dip Teach from University of Technology Sydney, and an Associate Diploma in Performance Clarinet from Conservatory Canada,. Her primary teachers include Pamela Wolf (Sydney Conservatory of Music), Anne Menzies (Sydney Symphony Orchestra), and Dr Robert Riseling (University of Western Ontario). Sue Moore is currently based in Kingston, Ontario.
